Range worse than older dlink models, poor setup
A bit disappointed in this router. I’ve owned D-Link products for decades but this latest release didn’t impress me. Range is worse than my ax5400 on 5g and 2.4ghz. I have two access points and the hand off, while client focused, is worse with these routers than wifi 6.Setup using the app just wasted an hour of my time. I would have given 3 stars but the styling is great and this router could work in certain settings. Close by the speed was great but I lost signal two rooms away. My house is a tough install as I have brick walls and plaster. However the Ax5400 covered the basement, main floor and I had another another ax unit on the second floor. With the R95, I lost signal on the main floor.If you do have one with a better home layout the best setup process I found was this.1. Turn on router, launch app2. Have the app find the router3. Plug in the internet cable into the wan port, continue on the app4. About a 1/10 chance the admin password will be accepted. If it isn’t, start over again.5. Don’t have anything else connected at the time of installation.
